Password protection for viewing subtrees
We may want to keep certain subtrees confidential, for instance projects involving commercial partners and commercial concepts. E.g. The RoboTrainer-One subtree.
Can we make a list of approved users for specific pages, so that page ... and it's subpages can not be viewed unless you are logged in, and on the list?
- MediaWiki documentation mentions that it is possible to make per-page view access and edit restrictions using 3rd party patches. It is not officially supported and discouraged, because those patches are poorly maintained and inherently insecure. I think a better solution is to make another wiki instance with access restrictions applied to the whole site. Then we have the current TTL Wiki as it is now, and other project wiki's in their own paths (e.g.: ttl.tek.sdu.dk/enchantwiki) . This solution should be easy to setup, and is supported. -Anders B
