Gait analysis during partial body-weight support

The Robotrainer Gravity can support the weight of a patient, to begin a rehabbing much earlier than previously. There are other similar products on the market, but research on how partial weight-bearing affects gait is lacking. This could be a dillema if a person adapts an unhealthy gait pattern by using this machine.

In the project, whether the gait pattern changes with load, use of other harnesses, or change of the software, could be studied with 3D motion capture, accelerometers, force plates etc. all logged with ROS (Robotic Operating System) which is implemented and available in the Training Technology Lab.

ROS also has a feature that uses webcam video to track "QR-code like" labels in 3 dimensions. Implementing this function into the Training Technology Lab ROS system would be a great advantage, and could help with the gait analysis.
