Objective:

The objective of the project is to find a way to measure and analyse the respiration of the human lungs. The measurement will need to be able to map the volume and frequency of the breathing, to identify if there is any correlation between the breathing and movement, while during different exercises. The project is divided into two phases. In the first phase the focus will be in test and examination of different sensors that can be used for monitoring breathing. In the second phase it will be investigated if there is a correlation between the breathing and the synchronization of the movement.

Background:

Respiration has a huge importance for the body and is an essential part of the contraction of the muscles. Respiration is normally controlled by the autonome nervesystem, so the breathing happens automatically . Under physical hard work the body will have to use oxygen, therefore the respiration frequency and the respiration volume will increase. The body is very good at adjusting the conditions, because of this there might be a correlation between the respiration rhythm and the rhythm of the physical movement under physical hard work. If it is obtainable to detect a synchronisation between the respiration and the movement, then it will be possible to have a greater focus on the breathing to increase the presentation.
